The purpose of a SIA Registered Door Supervisor is to ensure that all customers visiting a licensed venue remain safe and have an enjoyable experience in the knowledge that if a situation or incident were to occur, it would be dealt with professionally by experienced staff.
SIA Registered Door Supervisors remain professional at all times, are aware and confident. They handle situations and incidents fairly, dealing with concerns according to the law.
Under the Private Security Industry Act, Door Supervisors must have a licence to practice issued through the SIA. It is an offence to work as a Door Supervisor without an SIA licence, and the penalty for working without a licence could result in a large fine or up to 5 years imprisonment. The licence must be on display at all times. However before applying for a licence the appropriate training must be taken and all exams passed, if this is not done your application will be refused by SIA.
